5 Minute Mojo
The secret Letter “J” introduces your child to the Jaguar. As you near the end of Level 2 in the Rainforest, your child will discover the Jaguar and his unique ability to use night vision to see in the dark. Jaguar is the Dream Catcher of the Pride, and he will teach your child about how the animals use their senses to stay alive in their habitat. Read the second book again, watch “The Secret Letter J,” and dance to the rainforest songs on the iKnow album. By the end of this lesson, your child will have learned about five rainforest animals and will know five letters of the alphabet
Teaching Tip:
Reinforce the concepts your child is learning at preschool by asking questions about what he or she has learned recently. For example, questions like “What color is this?” or “What shape is this?” will drive home concepts introduced in school.

Activities
Paper Plate Dream Catchers(Materials: paper plates, hole puncher, yarn, markers, feathers, beads) – Take a paper plate and cut a round hole in the middle, leaving a three inch border. Let your child decorate the plate with markers, stickers, or any crafts they wish. Punch about nine holes around the inner circle, three on the bottom, and one on the top of the plate. Help your child weave colored yarn back and forth through the circle holes (you can secure the yarn on the back side by tying it around a bead). Then, tie three lengths of yarn in the bottom three holes for your feather decorations. Tie the feathers to the ends of the yarn, along with any other beads or decorations. Finally, loop one more piece of yarn through the top hole for hanging the dream catcher above your bed.

Healthy Snack
Dreamy Creamy Hot Chocolate- Moms already know that chocolate is a health food, right? Actually, cocoa has great antioxidant properties and is a classic treat to allow your kids. Done the French way, hot chocolate is a rich, luxurious drink to enjoy in small doses, and one that also provides calcium, Vitamin D, and lower doses of sugar than the average mix. Take 2 cups of whole milk, 5 ounces of bittersweet chocolate (broken into small pieces), and a couple tablespoons of brown sugar (optional). Heat the milk in a medium saucepan. Once warm, whisk in the chocolate pieces and the brown sugar until completely melted and steaming hot. For a thicker hot chocolate, simmer on a low boil for about three minutes. Serve in small tea cups — it will be a special treat for your kids!
