Animal Ambassador Ceremony – Give your child the satisfaction of accomplishment by making their completion of the challenge into a special ceremony. Your child will receive an official Animal Ambassador Certificate once he or she has completed the challenge to reunite the Sunmoona Pride Animals and their Secret Letters. Hold an “official” ceremony in front of your family to present the certificate to your child, and make sure everyone gives a big round of applause!

5 Minute Mojo

Start the celebrations today...you and your child are on the very last letter of the alphabet! Hyrax, with his Secret Letter “X”, is the Secret Keeper of the Pride. He has a very special letter and a very special job: once his letter is activated, he will reunite all of the letters in the Sunmoona Pride’s Animal Alphabet. Your child will travel back to the plains of Africa for the final letter in the journey. The Legend of the Sunmoona Pride culminates with your child watching “The Secret Letter X” and seeing the letters activate. Way to go!

Teaching Tip

Now that your child has learned all of the letters, you can also start to test their knowledge with phoneme manipulation. Challenge your child to access prior knowledge by starting to say a word, then waiting for them to fill in the rest. For example, point to an iguana and say, “What is this? I-i-i...”

Healthy Snack

“Secret Butter” – Avocados are lovingly known as “nature’s butter.” Slice a ripe avocado, smash it on some whole-wheat toast or crackers, and sprinkle with a bit of salt and pepper. Call the avocado “secret butter,” and your child will think of it as a special treat!
