Activities

Safari Binoculars (Materials – two toilet paper rolls, glue, markers, yarn) — Let your child decorate the paper roll tubes with any materials they wish, like markers, stickers, etc. When done, take the tubes and glue them together with a strong glue down the middle, in a vertical line, so that they stick together side by side. You can either stop there and let your child use the binoculars when dry, or you can punch two holes in the opposite sides and tie a string of yarn through each hole to make a holding strap. Voila! Your child is ready for his or her safari. Bring this portable toy everywhere and ask what your child sees in his or her own environment.
